• When installing a completely new landscape it is wise to install hardscapes such as walkways and patios prior to plants and sod.
• A well designed irrigation system should water plant and grass areas separately. Drip irrigation is excellent for plants. Drip system save water too!
• Soil amendments and soil preparation are key! They are the foundation upon which beautiful landscapes are built.
• Invest in soil conditioners and amendments, you will have better performing plants in the future.
• Put the proper plant in the proper place. Consider the microclimates of your property.
• Lawn vs. landscape: do you deserve a large lawn for the kids to play? Or do you favor plantings? Or an outdoor living area? Consider how you would use your area.
